According to a recall study published by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a ruptured hose can lead to a large brake fluid leak in roughly 1.28 million Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ vehicles across many model years.
The front brake jounce hoses on the recalled cars, according to Ford, have the potential to prematurely rupture and considerably increase brake fluid leakage over time. According to the research, the leak might make the brake pedal less responsive and cause a delayed descent, increasing the chance of a collision.
The NHTSA report said that the problem is present in an estimated 2% of the 1.28 million cars.
