A woman wins more than $1.6 million at a casino and splits the money with the dealers and gamblers.

Christmas arrived early for a New Jersey woman who won a large jackpot at an Atlantic City casino, as well as the dealers and fellow gamblers with whom she decided to share her newfound fortune.

On Saturday, a 74-year-old woman from Monmouth County, New Jersey, won more than $1.6 million with a royal flush from a $5 bet at a progressive poker table at Harrah’s Resort & Casino Atlantic City.

“That is the highest amount that Caesars Entertainment has given in New Jersey,” Michael Zippel, director of table games at Harrah’s Atlantic City, told NBC10.

The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, approached the cashier to claim her prize. She then left a $77,000 cash tip on the poker table.

“She thanked me for dealing with it. Devin Thapa, the woman’s dealer, told NBC10. “I thanked her. You are a pleasant individual.”

Tips at the casino are pooled, which means the money is distributed among all of Harrah’s dealers, which number around 250 in total.

“Most people tip,” Zippel explained. “This one was exceptional. It was jaw-dropping.”

The woman’s generosity didn’t end there. She gave $100 to every other gambler present, a total of at least 25 people at the time.

“It’s tremendous of her to do it at this time of year, especially with the holidays and Christmas right here,” said Gregg Klein, General Manager of Harrah’s Atlantic City. “I’m just thankful to have visitors like her.”
