According to reports, a repeat burglary offender breaks into Robert De Niro’s New York City home and attempts to steal Christmas presents.

According to multiple news outlets, police in New York City are investigating after a woman broke into Robert De Niro’s home early Monday morning and attempted to steal multiple gifts from under his Christmas tree.

According to an NYPD police spokesperson, the incident occurred around 2:45 a.m. at a home on East 65th Street in the Upper East Side.

Members of the department’s 19th Precinct observed a woman “known from numerous burglary arrests” enter the residence, according to the spokesperson.

According to the spokesperson, the woman entered the house through a basement door that showed signs of forced entry.

When officers entered the house, they discovered a woman “attempting to remove property.”

According to police, the woman was taken into custody without incident, and charges were pending in the case.

A representative for De Niro acknowledged the incident but provided no further details.

“At this time, we are not making any statements regarding the robbery at Robert De Niro’s temporary rental home.”

According to the outlet, he was home when the woman broke in and discovered her “bagging up Christmas presents under the tree.”

Police said more information about the case would be released later Monday, and that the burglary was still being investigated.
