Andrew Tate, a far-right influencer and self-proclaimed misogynist, has been charged with sex trafficking and rape in Romania.

According to Romanian media, provocative right-wing influencer and self-proclaimed misogynist Andrew Tate was charged with sex trafficking and rape on Thursday.

Tate and his brother, Tristan, were apprehended at their compound in the eastern European country, according to the Romanian newspaper Libertatea.

Romania’s organised crime and anti-terrorism agency confirmed the arrests and charges against two British citizens, but did not name the suspects. Both Tates are British, and they were detained, according to several Romanian media outlets.

According to police, the Tates conspired with Romanian citizens to lure women to their villa in the country’s Ilfov County, which includes Bucharest.

According to police, once the women arrived at the compound, they were physically and mentally intimidated before being forced to stay and film porn videos.

According to investigators, at least one victim was raped twice. Six people were saved from the compound.

Cops first made the allegations against Tate in April 2022, but he dismissed them as a joke. Romanian media captured video of the Tates being led out of their compound this time. They would be detained for at least 24 hours, according to police.

Andrew Tate, 36, began his adult life as a kickboxer before retiring and focusing on hyper-misogynist internet content. Tate admitted in an interview that he was “absolutely a sexist” and “absolutely a misogynist.”

On Tuesday, he tweeted at climate activist Greta Thunberg, bragging about his numerous cars and their negative environmental impact.

“Yes, please enlighten me,” Thunberg responded on Wednesday. Please contact me at smalldickenergy@getalife.com.” Her tweet was liked by over 3 million people.

Tate was removed from Twitter in 2017. However, after purchasing the company, new CEO Elon Musk reinstated him.
