Emma Thompson, who plays Matilda in Netflix’s “Matilda the Musical,” recently told USA TODAY what she enjoys most about the holiday season.
“I like everything,” Thompson says. “I enjoy decorating the Christmas tree. Carols are something I enjoy singing. I enjoy attending carol services. I’ll be doing a reading at Westminster Abbey (in London). “I don’t dislike anything about Christmas.”
Her actor husband Greg Wise, on the other hand, would rather avoid the holiday season entirely: “He’d rather go somewhere else,” Thompson jokes. “Basically, a cave. Undecorated.”
