After receiving numerous consumer complaints about the decision to end its popular Side Salad, Chick-fil-A said Friday that it will reconsider its decision.
The chicken franchise said in a news release that it had made the painful choice to eliminate the Side Salad from its menus early this month in an effort to streamline and update it. But, we’ve decided to keep providing the Side Salad at participating restaurant locations based on customer input.
According to the Chick-fil-A website, the salad has mixed greens, Monterey jack and cheddar cheeses, and grape tomatoes.
Online outrage accompanied the initial decision
The popular salad’s anticipated demise was first made known to customers when a restaurant in Georgia uploaded a picture of a flyer announcing the removal of the side item on April 3.
One Facebook user said, “I think this is not a smart move.” “The salad with nuggets is eaten by a lot of people.”
On Twitter, similar thoughts were widely expressed.
On March 23, one person tweeted, “@ChickfilA PLEASE DON’T GET RID OF THE SIDE SALAD!!”
On March 27, the official Chick-fil-A Twitter account replied, “Thanks for getting in touch, Alissa.” We regret the inconvenience and hope to continue working with you in the future.
