In the coming months, Disneyland and Walt Disney World guests can expect more bang for their buck.
Josh D’Amaro, chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products, announced several changes on Tuesday to address guest concerns.
“As we move forward into this bright future, it is critical that we continue to evolve in order to provide the best guest experience possible,” D’Amaro wrote in an email to cast members. “And, while this does not address all of the feedback we received, these changes will increase flexibility and add value to our guests’ experience.”
Early park hopping privileges at Disneyland and free self-parking at Disney World hotels are among the changes.
The following are the most significant changes coming to Disneyland and Disney World:
What has changed at the Disneyland Resort?
Beginning February 4, Disneyland Resort guests will be able to enjoy a few new benefits.
Guests with Magic Key passes or park hopper tickets will be able to travel between Disneyland and Disney California Adventure at 11 a.m., two hours earlier than is currently permitted.
In addition, as part of the resort’s Disney100 celebration, all ticketed guests will be able to receive free Disney PhotoPass digital downloads of attraction photos via the Disneyland app.
Throughout the year, Disneyland will offer nearly two months’ worth of its lowest-priced tickets, which cost $104 for one day of admission. (If there is a special discount going on, one-day tickets may be cheaper.)
Finally, when inventory allows, there will be more sales of the coveted Magic Key pass, though the pass will still be limited. New sales of annual passes have been halted for the time being, and only renewals are available to current passholders.
Starting Tuesday night, guests staying at Disney World’s Disney Resort hotels will be able to save money with complimentary self-parking. Previously, overnight parking ranged from $15 to $25 per night, depending on the resort.
When guests purchase Disney Genie+ service in the coming months, they will be able to download digital photos from attractions such as Space Mountain and Test Track for free.
In addition, Disney World annual passholders will be able to visit parks after 2 p.m. without making a reservation in the coming months. However, there is one exception: weekends at Magic Kingdom. Pass blockout dates will remain in effect.
