Jesse Spencer makes a fiery entrance at his station house welcome when he returns to “Chicago Fire.”
The 44-year-old Australian actor played Matt Casey for nine seasons of the Dick Wolf drama before quitting in season ten. Although Casey relocated to Portland, Oregon, for a new life and a new captain’s position, she came back for Kelly Severide’s (Taylor Kinney) and Stella Kidd’s wedding in the Season 10 finale (Miranda Rae Mayo).
Spencer explains, “Matt was the best man, so it was proper to return.”
On Wednesday’s episode (9 EDT/PDT), Casey returns to Firehouse 51 and the neighbourhood pub Molly’s due to important fire business and conversations with a former flame.
I’ve always indicated that I’m open to bringing Casey back in the future, says Spencer. And it’s entertaining because they place me in the middle of a mass of chaos.
The effects of Casey’s return to “Chicago Fire” are shown here.
Jesse Spencer’s departure from “Chicago Fire”: Why?
Throughout his ten-year stint on “Chicago Fire,” Spencer, who played Dr. Robert Chase on the Fox medical drama “House” from 2004 to 2012, was a fan favourite. Yet after marrying researcher Kali Woodruff Carr in 2020 and welcoming their first child, Spencer’s objectives in life shifted.
“I had a toddler after getting married. so my life changed in a certain way “Says Spencer, who still resides in Chicago but moved for personal reasons after his 200th episode.
In his apartment, he keeps his firefighter Halligan bar forced entry tool in addition to his ‘Chicago Fire’ helmet. He asserts, “You never know when you’re going to need one.” Spencer thought about opening the lift doors himself after his kid became caught in the apartment building lift earlier this year.
Spencer recalls, “I almost grabbed my Halligan and raced upstairs.” “The building HOA wouldn’t want me breaking through the doors, I reasoned at that point. I then made a call to the fire department. They arrived and removed my child.”
Matt Casey participates in a rescue mission on “Chicago Fire”
Without Casey going back to work on the fire, it wouldn’t be a homecoming. He’s still a pro at donning bulky safety equipment during exercises.
Spencer claims, “I knew exactly where the buckles and straps were, much like riding a bike.” “I merely overlooked how much weight that equipment carries. And you switch it on and off for scenes something like thirty times. I wasn’t blind to that.”
Naturally, the crew of Casey’s former vessel Truck 81 is sent to save a man who is dangling from a window of a Chicago apartment block.
Spencer says, “That was fun. We went for a ride in the trailer, like old times. It seemed as though I had never left the programme.
Please tell us whether Matt Casey will continue working for “Chicago Fire.”
No. Casey will go back to his new life in Oregon after the “Chicago Fire” return, which is a guest appearance. But, Spencer can’t wait to get back to his TV clan. He remains close to Killmer and other cast members.
We all socialised as she brought her family over; we are close friends, Spencer claims. I’m open to returning because this programme was such a special part of my life for ten years.
