The new island destination will open its doors to visitors for the first time next year, Disney Cruise Line announced on Thursday.
The Bahamas’ Lighthouse Point beach resort will become accessible to tourists on a few cruises in the summer of 2024. Plans for the project were initially disclosed by the cruise line in 2019.
In a news release, Sharon Siskie, senior vice president and general manager of Disney Cruise Line, said, “We at Disney Cruise Line have a tremendous affection for the Bahamas people. “We are related in a variety of ways, including via our love of hospitality and storytelling. With the opening of Lighthouse Point, tourists from all over the world will be able to really appreciate the natural and cultural splendour of The Bahamas.”
